When I was rearing my children from infancy to the time they were toddlers, they never had any problem with urinary tract infection. (UTI) At that time, cotton diapers were used. We had to wash the diapers, dry and reuse it until it got tattered, being passed down from one child to the last one..
With the advent of disposable diapers, life for mothers became very convenient., no more messy washing of diapers. That convenience, however, was replaced by the children having UTI. It turned out to be more expensive, and stressful because of the UTI at a very young age.
Likewise, the sanitary pad made of cotton material, which takes longer time to wash was replaced by the disposal ones. But you would notice now women having problems also of UTI, cervical cancer, myoma, uncomfortable infection in the women’s reproductive organs, infertility.
One of the causes of the problems in some of the disposal diapers and the sanitary pads in the market is the use of recycled papers which have to go through several processes of bleaching to make it white, and some companies’ use of an industrial gel to absorb moisture and to kill odor. We know that an industrial gel is harmful. You can find this caution in the industrial gel being used in bags: do not eat, toxic. This same kind of material is being used in some pads.
